Majority of folks out there suffer from a leg length imbalance and they don’t even know it! It’s commonly accepted that 1/2″ difference in your leg lengths is normal. We don’t think so

You don’t need heel lifts

You don’t need to shim your cleats

Minor imbalances in leg lengths don’t make symptoms in most of the general public, but the endurance athlete whose making 20,000 pedal strokes is really going to feel the effects of that half inch. This is why we see only one knee that hurts, or one hips that gets sore, when the athlete is performing exactly the same reps in exactly the same way, over and over.

We’ll be going over this in our lecture next week, and you can find out exactly what causes it and exactly how to fix it.

See you at FAC!

  • I’m very interested in this subject, as my right leg is shorter than my left by about one inch. I’m in my late 30s and have coped well all my life. This year my knee of the short leg has given me more pain than usual and following medical advise am now wearing raised heel of half inch; since Sept 08. The last few weeks have been difficult for me, trying to adapt to the change. My hip and back are sore every morning. My heel, calf and foot are agony. Any information that you could share with me on this subject would be much appreciated. I used to be a keen sports woman years ago, but recently have taken up yoga and swimming again following medical advise. No yoga or swimming for me at present. Right now I am a complete recluse, not leaving my house because of the way people look at my shoes and also because of the pain I’m in. Any help much appreciated.
