Like I said in an earlier post, organics are just not cutting it anymore. Unless you’ve actually been to the farm and know what’s going on (highly suggested by the way), your probably not getting high quality, nutrient dense food.
What are plants anyway? If you want to get down to the nitty gritty, plants are just a medium, a device.
They’re a device for transporting minerals and nutrients from the soil into your body. Plants concentrate nutrition in a form that humans can assimilate……….. you don’t want to be eating dirt sandwiches all day.
Plants are just carrying devices for nutrients in the soil, and if the soil is not up to par, then your health won’t be either. Human beings systems are designed to run off wild plants that are ultra-dense forms of nutrition.
Ever had a wild blueberry? The “out-of-this-world-taste” is from all the nutrients that have been sucked up into that little berry.
Why does a conventionally farmed tomato taste like garbage? because there’s nothing in the soil! Load up the soil with salt and plants are forced to take on a lot of water to balance out all the solute in their systems. You end up with 2 pound strawberries that have no flavor at all. If I loaded you up with salt you’d swell up too!
Most people haven’t seen stuff like this, but here’s the size of a REAL strawberry

Well……Rants aside, there’s a much better way:

Wikipedias definition of biodaynamic farming: a method of organic farming that treats farms as unified and individual organisms,[1] emphasizing balancing the holistic development and interrelationship of the soil, plants, animals as a closed, self-nourishing system.
The big part of this is it a CLOSED system. There is nothing taken away that is not added back in. Farming methods must include cultivation of the soil rather than just mining it for nutrients like most farmers are doing in the United States. They are kept to highly stringent standards that are much higher than certified organics.
In a nutshell, you end up with super-nutrient-dense plants, healthy animals, and healthy humans in the end. How do you think you would feel if you could eat half the food and receive double the nutrients?
Most people remain hungry, despite being full, because the body craves nutrition, not quantity!
Just to restate that……Fill yourself up with a bunch of nutrient depleted food and you’ll be hungry and full at the same time.
You won’t eat as much + You’ll save money + Warm fuzzies from supporting sustainable farming
Find one near you……..Here’s the USA website for the Demeter association, a certifying agency for Biodynamic farmers.
And for you wine-o’s, they even make biodynamic wine now!

Research has shown that is often the farming methods and pesticides that will give you that hangover effect in the morning (besides just having too much, obviously). Connoiseurs of taste will find much more in the field of biodynamics……But don’t expect them to age well, they don’t add sulfites.
Cheers!
