I’ve been in Italy the last week or so (hence no blog posts), which has given me plenty of nights in hotel rooms.
Most hotels in the US have pretty shoddy workout rooms…….a treadmill…..a stair stepper….and if you get lucky, maybe a few dumbells.
European hotels don’t have workout rooms at all!
What is an exercise fanatic to do!?
Sometimes I forget that it IS possible to workout without any equipment. Yep…..just you and that body of yours is all you need. That’s where Crossfit comes into play. Workout that you can basically do anywhere, like these squats on the beach:

Or if you want to get a little crazy:

These guys specialize in functional fitness that meshes strength and endurance. They’ve got a lot of workouts that are around 20 minutes long, like these (from their website):
“Cindy“
Complete as many rounds in 20 minutes as you can of:
5 Pull-ups
10 Push-ups
15 Squats
OR
“Mary“
Complete as many rounds in 20 minutes as you can of:
5 Handstand Push-ups
10 One legged squats, alternating
15 Pull-ups
Don’t get me wrong, most of these are DIFFICULT. I wouldn’t suggest them to anyone without some knowledge of how to hold your spine during these patterns. But for anyone looking for a challenge, give ‘em a try!
These workout will challenge your nervous system, cardiovascular system, and everything in between, not to mention blowing away normal conceptions of what a workout is. Oh yeah, and they’re a lot of fun!
Remember? Workouts are supposed to be fun!
