The health industry is like a big slow elephant with five trainers yelling at it from different directions.
I.E., it is very slow to respond, and heavily influenced by money and politics.
Old school philosophies still reign, universitires are still teaching calorie counting in masters level nutrition courses. “No pain, No Gain” is still written on posters in gyms. People are still whirring away at spin classes, treadmills, and core-hot-power-hiphop yoga. Oh right……and eating low fat food.
It’s time to get real!
And get smart too! These philosophies have been around since the 1950′s……..And by my last count……its 2008
Good information is tremendously hard to come by when your talking about health, this is just a fact of our world today. Research is typically biased…..the TV is chock full of Cortislim and Pepsi ads…….good health books are few and far between……..and the internet is a rowdy circus of misinformation.
So how do we know what’s “healthy”?
Ironically, we’ve got to go back in time for this one…….back when there was a good “human stock” to work with. Before researchers we’re trying to find if out beer is healthier than wine.
Humans have been on this earth for a long time. Our bodies have been adapting for tens of thousands of year to be able to digest very specific foods that were common to our ancestor’s place of residence.
Every person has a different racial background. Your parents came from a different place than your neighbor’s parents, etc. etc.
So would it be smart to advocate a “one size fits all” diet plan for digestive systems that are adapted to different environments?
Of course not!
Should everyone eat low carb? Low fat? Raw food? Blood type?
Would you feed a Giraffe a T-Bone steak?

Would you feed a lion plants?

Obviously not……..Neither of them would live!……….But this is what our whole society is doing everyday. Most people eat a diet that is not unique to their own biochemistry. This is really setting up for failure. There is absolutely no question in my mind as to why every one of us is expected to die of a heart attack. If not that, then cancer is still a 1/1.5 chance.
Eating proper ratios of fats/carbohydrates/proteins is a prerequisite for health
How did your ancestors live?……..
Are you a Lion who’s a vegetarian?
Are you a Giraffe who’s gorging on meat?
To be continued……………..
